It’s one of the biggest events ever to happen in Las Vegas, with over 17,000 vibrant people joining together for the great Adobe Summit 2019.
The energy on the floor was high, as everyone waited for the event to start and for Shantanu Narayen, CEO of Adobe, to inaugurate the event with his Keynote speech. They also invited new members to their family, Magento, and Marketo, as these were their new additions to their product line.
Shantanu Narayen continued his speech by talking about their new products and their approach to business. The key products that were discussed are:- Dorm – Dashboard from the Experience Manager follows the steps below to run a successful business.

The next exciting thing that he mentioned was their new Video platform called Premiere Rush CC. It is an Adobe Video creation platform, where high-quality videos can be created. To everyone’s surprise, Shantanu announced a one-year free subscription for all the attendees of this event, which got an enthusiastic applause from the attendees.
It was clearly visible that Adobe is investing heavily on their Adobe Experience Cloud to stand ahead of its competitors.
The event was later followed by an interaction between Shantanu and Hubert Joly, CEO of Best Buy, where they became CEOs at the same time around 11 years ago. Hubert Joly spoke about the challenges Best Buy faced after Amazon took the e-commerce industry with a great storm, and how they were forced to re-transform their business to stay, as everybody was afraid of shutting down. The most interesting facts were that they try to spend at least 80% in their Digital Marketing and businesses, and they send around 14 Million different emails to their customers.
After a great discussion, it was time for the newbies to join the stage, Magento and Marketo, to speak about their business and how they plan on working together with Adobe in the future.
From Magento, it was Jason Woosley, VP of Commerce, who walked us through the journey of Magento over a decade and proudly mentioned the developer community that they have built across the globe.
Steve Lucas, CEO of Marketo, then spoke about their acquisition, and how they provide a high-quality experience to B2B and B2C businesses.
The event was then followed by the other advanced product features, along with a short discussion with Atticus Tysen, CIO at Intuit, on how they improve their customer relationships.
This was a great first day morning Keynote session, which was later followed by various Breakout sessions.
After a great show on Day 1, it was time for Day 2, as the expectations and excitement were much higher due to the great guests that were lined up for the General session of Adobe Summit 2019.
The crowd was standing in a long queue and waiting for the auditorium to open, as they started running into the auditorium to get a good spot near the main stage.
As to everyone’s expectations, the event was started by Ann Lewnes, CMO at Adobe, who shared more insights on how they change their strategy on Digital Marketing by spending over 70% for over a decade, which has resulted in them becoming a customer experience hub with over 9.4 Billion views for their site.
And then, it was time to invite the much-awaited star guest Satya Nadella, CEO at Microsoft, along with Shantanu Narayen, CEO of Adobe. This was a completely different level of conversation, where Satya Nadella started with Xbox for differently abled children and how it is helping them to play with other kids equally.
He further emphasized on creating a Learning culture in the organization and try to vision the future, before it becomes conventional wisdom. To everyone’s surprise, it was great news, where Microsoft, Adobe and SAP have partnered to work on ODI. They also showed a demo of Unilever on how they are adding value to the data which is lying on the database.
The outcome of their discussion was to explore and unlock the data as much as possible and try to predict with high precision and understand customer behavior. This session ended up with a high note and great applause from the crowd.
It was time to have Reese Witherspoon, a great Actor, Producer, and Entrepreneur who the women in Hollywood look up to as an inspiration, who’s turning the perception of women in Hollywood by creating more and more women-centric roles.
Finally, Drew Brees, Quarterback for the New Orleans Saints, came to stage along with Pam Oliver, NFL Reporter in Fox Sports, where they discussed the game and the different strategies in it. It was great to hear about the philanthropy work being done by the Brees family.
With all these great stars the morning session was over, and it was time for lunch, which was then followed by some breakout sessions.
The most awaited ‘Sneaks’ was started in the evening before the Great bash, which was hosted by Mindy Kaling, Actress, Writer, and Producer. The different teams of Adobe exhibited their new projects that are lined up for the year. Mindy’s speech was well-received by the audience and was a very refreshing discussion.
The biggest takeaways of the events:
- Make every experience epic.
- Don’t be afraid to experiment.
- Vision the future before it becomes conventional wisdom.
The vibrant event had finally come to an end. It was an event to remember, a great one at that. I am really looking forward to the Adobe Summit 2020.
